Electric Saws
I sell Husqvarna, Tyrolit and Eibenstock electric saws in Bibra Lake W.A.
Tips:
Some of these saws have very big motors, so draw a lot of power.
Keep extension cords as short as possible.
Use only heavy duty extensions cords
Try to put your vacuum on a seperate circuit, or at least a seperate power point.
This will allow the bigger saws to draw their rated power, and perform as specified.

Silica dust - when workers cut, crush, drill, polish, saw or grind products that contain silica, particles are created, which are one-hundredth of the size of a grain of sand. These can get stuck deep in the lungs.
Ensure precautions to limit exposure to dust are in place.
See the WA government's info on silica dust here.
Tips:
The bigger electric saws (350mm and 400mm) draw a lot of power, but still do not have the same power as a petrol saw.
To maximise their efficiency, we suggest the following:
Use electric saw specific blades - these are softer than standard blades. This enables them to cut better. A petrol saw blade is too hard, and can overload your electric saw.
Leads - use 4mm HD extension leads. Even the 2.5mm HD leads can cause problems. Keep them as short as possible (under 20m).
Step cutting - try to cut about 20mm deep only at a time. This is much better than cutting to full depth. Cutting 20mm keeps the motor spinning at full revs, so the fan is maximising its cooling.
RCD and electric motors are usually IP55 rated, so protected against dust ingress, and water resistant (but not water proof!).
Generators - do not run off generators. They may not be 240 volt, 50Hz, or are often too small for the saw.
Vacuums: Put vacuums on a seperate circuit so as not to overload each circuit.
