Core Drill Data
What size barrels can I use on my core drill?
What is the speed I should run them at?
These are all important questions core drillers need to know.
United Diamond Tools have produced these tables to answer all these questions for you.
Just remember:
- These specifications were supplied by the manufacturers and are for the machine models as indicated.
- For other core bits see the relevant pages, eg:
- Dry core cutter see here
- Electroplated bits see here
- Granite, polymer concrete and granite bits see here - Because of the many variables when coring (eg hardness of material, power of drill, skill of operator, brand of barrels used etc), these specifications are indicative only.
- Any core drilling above 60-75mm (different manufacturers have different recommendations) must be used in a drill rig or stand (not be hand held).
- All specifications are based on wet drilling only
- Slip torque of clutch (clutch setting) is measured when pinion shaft is out of the drill, held in a vise, and are specified by the manufacturer.
- Always read your core drills operation manual before use.
- Wear correct PPE (personal protective equipment)
- Use the core drill and barrel only in a safe manner as described in the operation manual.
- Do not undertake repairs unless you are a competent mechanic.
- We stock the clutch tool for holding the splined gear while you are torquing up the clutch (see more here).
